Colombia
Colombia
Interestingly enough Colombia had some big history-making it what is now, and it goes all the way back to even for 1400's era in which the Spanish would claim the land. Everything has an impact and knowing the back history will show the history to what it is now. Settlers around the 1500s found and claimed Colombia and surprisingly enough it was not Christopher Columbus, but Alonso de Ojeda which landed in Cabo de la Vela. Fun fact that Santa Marta the oldest city (in Colombia) to live stands still to this day. Anyways religion became a big part of Colombia having mostly Roman Catholic Christianity, a few being protestant Christianity, and the other being other types of religion around the world. In Colombia back in the day religion was a massive part of power around the 1600s-1900s centaury. They have many churches that were built around the 1800s-1900s centenary, and some still stand to this day. Religion played a major part even having a conflict named, War of Supremes which lead to president Jose Ignacio de Marquez claiming power in the 1800s centenary which was a religious leader. The Spanish had man disputes with the British, but still being claimed by the Spanish and have for the taking.
Another fun fact would be before the Spanish came to take over the land, the native were killed by a foreign disease. Already knowing that they do not have the technology to help they were dying already which made it easier for the Spanish to take over.
